CROWN THINNING
This is the meticulously-selective removal of branches that helps increase light penetration; reduces canopy weight; improves tree structure; and lessens wind resistance ... while still maintaining the natural shape of the tree. The breakage or weakening of branches is most common after a rainy or windy day.
CROWN RAISING
The removal of lower branches in a tree to increase visibility, clear space for vehicles and/or buildings, and reduce hazards to people walking below.
